What shakes can you make this summer?

  1. Watermelon shake
  2. Mango shake
  3. Avocado shake
  4. Caramel Frappuccino
  5. S’more chocolate milkshake

Shakes are some of the easiest and tastiest treats you can make this summer. With the right kitchen appliances in the Philippines, you’ll be able to create even the most complicated and most delicious shakes.

These are perfect for the season! Summer is coming and aside from ice cream and beaches, shakes are your best bet to beat the heat! The great thing about these shakes is that you can make them from almost anything, so experiment at will!

For those who want a quick fix on a hot day, however, there are few short recipes for delicious and easy to do shakes!

Watermelon Shake

Watermelon Shake

A staple in a lot of shops and restaurants, watermelon shakes are tasty, refreshing and vibrant. It’s also fairly easy to do!

  • 1 cup of watermelon
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • ½ cup of all-purpose cream
  • 200 ml of water

Place the ingredients into a blender one by one and lightly let it blend until there’s little to no more chunks of watermelon. Serve in a chilled tall glass.

Mango Shake

This one’s a little more unique to Asian countries, particularly the Philippines. A blender-made mango shake isn’t something to scoff at because to a lot of people, a mango is just as tasty as a shake, juice, or just the fruit itself!

  • 1 cup of mango
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • ½ cup of all-purpose cream
  • 200 ml of water

Just like how you did it with the watermelon shake, all you have to do is to place the ingredients into the blender and lightly blend it until there’s little to no more chunks of mango. Serve in a chilled, tall glass.

Now that we’re done with the simple recipes, here are a few shakes that will result in some unique and tasty concoctions!

Avocado Shake

While not as common as other fruits when used as shakes, this recipe will really show just how delicious the avocado is, especially when it’s used with the right ingredients!

  • 1 small ripe avocado
  • 1 small banana
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 ½ cups of milk
  • 3 tablespoons of kalamansi juice
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla
  • ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg

First, place the avocado, pineapple, banana, and milk in a blender and let it blend until the mixture is smooth.
Next, add some kalamansi juice, honey, vanilla, and nutmeg. Blend and whirl it all until it’s frothy. You may choose to dilute it with additional milk if you want to.

Caramel Frappuccino

Caramel Frappuccino

Yes, the drink that a lot of you know and love is actually fairly easy to do at home! It might not be as fancy or served in a green branded cup when you buy it out, but it will definitely deliver in the flavor department!

  • 4 cups of ice (preferably cubed or shaved)
  • ½ cup of black coffee
  • ¼ cup of whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons of caramel flavoring (sauce or syrup)

Blend all the ingredients together in a blender until they are relatively smooth. You should have enough to fill two large glasses. To finish it off, add a bit of whipped cream and drizzle some extra caramel sauce.

S’More Chocolate Shake

Now this one will probably make a lot of people’s mouth water. Nothing quite beats S’mores. But when you put it into a shake, then that’s something that you absolutely enjoy!

  • 1/3 cup 35% cream
  • 4 graham crackers
  • 2 thin squares of chocolate-bar style milk chocolate (at least about 1 inch)
  • 2 marshmallows
  • ¼ cup thick chocolate ice cream sauce
  • ¼ cup coarse chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 4 large scoops of chocolate ice cream
  • 1 cup of milk

This one will take a few minutes from start to finish. To make the s’mores, place 2 graham crackers on a small baking sheet. Top them each with chocolate then 2 marshmallow halves. Broil them for 30 to 60 seconds until the marshmallows are golden. Then, place the 2 remaining crackers on top.

With that done, you can start making the shake. Place the ice cream and the milk in a blender and process until frothy. Thicker milkshakes will need more ice cream.

Next, spoon chocolate sauce onto a small plate. Place the cookie crumbs on another small plate. Roll the rim of 1 milkshake glass in the chocolate sauce then the rim with crumbs. Then, use a spoon to drizzle half the sauce in 4 spots down the inside of the glass (you can settle with just forming stripes but you can definitely be creative). Fill the glass with the shake.

Top the whole thing off with whipped cream. Finally, place a s’more on top and sprinkle all the remaining cookie crumbs if you have any.

Key Takeaway

There are so many things that you can make with blenders in the Philippines. Most of them are simple and delicious shakes just as mentioned above.

Shakes are a testament to the use of kitchen appliances in the Philippines to their maximum potential. So try out these recipes and have a great summer!
