A home is not complete without essential appliances that would help make your living experience much more comfortable. Microwaves, refrigerators, and affordable TVs in the Philippines – these are just some of the most fundamental appliances at home. To ensure that they last for a long time, you have to maintain and care for them properly.
Among the basic appliances at home, microwave is one of the most important devices in the kitchen. This tool is helpful when cooking meals or heating leftover foods. One way of maintaining it in good condition is by cleaning it regularly. Below are a list of methods that you can do to clean your microwave; but before you start, make sure that your device is turned off and unplugged. If there are small particles of food inside it, pick it up one by one using your hand.
Use a microwavable bowl and fill it with warm water, mixed with dish washing soap or liquid. It’s alright if you stir the liquid until it mixes with the water or leave it as it is. Put the bowl inside the microwave and set the timer to 1 minute. Wait for it to finish; the water will turn into steam and spread around the microwave’s interior. Then, get a damp cloth or sponge to wipe off the water inside the device, removing the dirt as well.
If you have a window cleaner, you can use it to clean your microwave. Just mix two parts window cleaner solution with one part warm water and place the mixed liquid in any container. After that, use a cloth or sponge to wipe the interior and exterior of the microwave. Make sure that you use the right cloth to avoid leaving fabric residues inside the device. Leave it open afterwards and let it dry.
With the same procedure as the dish soap, start cleaning your microwave with vinegar by getting a microwavable bowl. Pour some water in it and a tablespoon of white vinegar. Place the bowl inside the microwave and set it around 3 to 5 minutes (the time will depend on the heat level of your microwave). After, open your microwave, wipe the residues off with paper or cloth, and voila! Meanwhile, to clean the spinning tray, wash it using dish washing products or through a dishwasher.
Another ingredient that you can use too clean your microwave is a lemon. Cut it in half and place one slice on a microwavable plate with a tablespoonful of water. Put the plate with lemon inside the microwave and set the timer around 1-2 minutes, just until the lemon is hot and the microwave is moist. After that, clean the interior using a cloth. Not only will this method clean your microwave, it will also make your device smell citrus-y afterwards!
The methods stated above are easy procedures that you can do to clean your microwave. Aside from cleaning the interior of your device, clean its exterior as well. Appliances are necessary in any home. To avoid buying a new one every few months, make sure to clean and maintain them properly.
