In the Philippines, affordable kitchen appliances such as blenders are patronized by millions of people. With the country’s climate, owning the necessary devices to create delectable cold drinks is a must. This is why numerous Filipinos invest in blenders – so that they can make smoothies and shakes to combat the hot weather, which seems to be a constant even during the cold season.

However, do you know that you can also use your trusty blender to make other kinds of beverages? If you want to beat the heat by drinking some cocktails or you’re simply looking for new drinks to serve your guests especially during this Christmas, here are 6 really easy recipes that you can follow.

Berry Burst

  • Fresh blackberries
  • 6 strawberries
  • 1 oz. heavy cream
  • 4 oz. skim milk

Saba Colada

  • A splash of Blue Curacao
  • 3 tbsp. simple syrup
  • 2 tbsp. Thai coconut milk
  • 2 oz. Malibu rum

First, create a simple syrup by dissolving sugar in boiling water. Let it cool then blend the ice, syrup, juice, milk, and rum altogether. Stop blending once the mixture’s consistency becomes foamy. Afterwards, pour into a glass and add Curacao. Top it with some coconut slice.

Then, pour it into a glass and garnish your drink with a lemon slice or an edible flower such as hollyhock or apple blossom gardenia. Voila! You can now enjoy your frozen pink lemonade!

Frozen Mudslide
